Things to know before you use it

CSV stores plain tabular values only, so formulas, workbook styling and multiple sheets cannot be preserved when exporting to CSV.

CSV and Excel do not preserve the same information

CSV is plain tabular text. It does not preserve workbook formatting, multiple sheets, formulas, charts or Excel-specific cell types in the same way an XLSX file can.

When exporting an Excel sheet to CSV, choose the intended sheet and remember that the result is a flat text table. When converting CSV to XLSX, formatting is newly created rather than recovered from the CSV.

Check delimiter and text encoding.
