ABOUT THIS TOOL

How Ledger Aging Calculator works

Turn a transaction ledger into a practical receivables or payables aging view. FileFiddler reads supported ledger rows, allocates receipts against older outstanding balances using FIFO, applies the credit period and returns the aging result in a familiar output format.

How to use it

  2. Confirm customer or supplier mode and credit days.
  3. Review the detected transactions and FIFO allocation.
  4. Download the aging result and verify unusual opening balances or adjustments.

Works well for

  • Customer receivable follow-up
  • Supplier payable review
  • Credit-control checks
  • Finding partially settled old invoices

Supported workflow

Reads supported ledger data, applies credit days and FIFO payment allocation, and calculates invoice aging and overdue balances.

Things to know before you use it

Aging depends on the dates, balances and payment records in the source ledger. Review unusual opening balances or adjustments before relying on the result.

How FIFO aging is calculated

Receipts are applied to the oldest eligible outstanding balances first. Credit days are then used to determine due dates and overdue age for the amounts that remain unpaid.

A receipt can therefore fully settle one invoice and partially settle the next. Opening balances, returns and manual adjustments deserve special review because their accounting meaning may not be obvious from the row values alone.

Before you rely on the result

  • Confirm customer/supplier mode.
  • Confirm debit and credit direction.
  • Review opening balances and credit notes.
