ABOUT THIS TOOL
Turn tables and positioned data in a text-based PDF into an editable Excel workbook. FileFiddler reads PDF text locally, reconstructs rows and columns, lets you correct column borders when needed, and exports a real XLSX file.
Best for text-based PDFs containing tables, statements, price lists or reports with selectable text.
PDF files do not store tables as spreadsheet cells. Complex layouts may need manual column-border adjustment, and scanned pages should usually be handled with Image to Excel instead.
FileFiddler does not assume that visible PDF columns are real spreadsheet columns. It reads selectable text and page positions, reconstructs a likely grid, and lets you correct column boundaries before creating the XLSX.
For example, a statement containing Date, Reference, Debit, Credit and Balance can be rebuilt into five editable worksheet columns. If Reference and Debit are visually too close for automatic detection, moving the border between them gives the reconstruction a clearer rule.
The original PDF stays in your browser. Extracted text and page coordinates are sent to the protected FileFiddler service only for table reconstruction.
Yes. FileFiddler currently provides this tool free to use in the browser.
